Part 1: "Institutions and Invention". Are institutions merely administering the inventions of others? And what are the conditions for institutions to be invented? This session will discuss the current landscape of cultural institutions in Flanders and the Netherlands on the background of such questions, starting with a discussion of historical cases of institutional invention. Part 2: "Opinions and Manuals". A walk-through presentation through the monography of Belgian artist René Heyvaert (1924-1984), organised by lightmachine.info and Extra City, with statements, contributions and an open discussion with Bart De Baere (artistic director of MuHKA), Luc Derycke (graphic designer and editor), Corinne Diserens (director Museion Bolzano), Nico Dockx (artist, co-editor of the book), Lieve Laporte (art historian, co-editor of the book), Jan Mast (artist, co-editor and graphic designer of the book) and Franz W. Kaiser (director of exhibitions at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag).

Part 3: opening of BARt, a lecture bar by Koenraad Dedobbeleer (artist), Nico Dockx and Kris Kimpe (architect) starring Jan Mast. Combined with the presentation of UP3 containing material by Koenraad Dedobbeleer, Nico Dockx, Kris Kimpe and Jan Mast about an architectural project by René Heyvaert, and a presentation of LIGHTMACHINE001, the experimental dummy, by Jan Mast and Lieve Laporte, that served as the grahic foundation for the René Heyvaert monography.
