On June 20 at 8:00 PM, we welcome Palestinian soprano Nour Darwish to the church of Kunsthal Extra City for a unique live performance of the aria from As If No Misfortune Had Occurred in the Night, the central work in Larissa Sansour’s exhibition. This powerful operafilm in Arabic blends Western classical music with Palestinian folk song in a compelling three-channel video installation. Darwish’s voice will resonate live through the space, accompanied by surtitles in English and Dutch. A moving experience that makes the collective Palestinian memory both audible and tangible.
