Sunday April 24, Kunsthal Extra City offers an afternoon with a guided tour and a chocolate workshop for children and adults.

At 13:30, our guide will take you and your child on a guided journey through the Made in X exhibition. Together, you will discover which hidden, secret paths raw materials such as tea, chocolate, copper, ... take before they end up in our homes. You will see how various artists have incorporated this themes in their work.

At 14:00 the children join Marijke from Rekub for a workshop on chocolate. Honest chocolate, of course, what did you think!

Together you make delicious chocolate cakes, with beetroot as a secret ingredient, which is just not red and ruddy or round enough to make it to the supermarket shelves. Since 2015, Rekub has been trying to take action against food waste by working with ingredients that would normally be thrown away: crooked vegetables and fruit, fish from by-catch or unloved parts of the pig.

While the kids are putting out their best baking skills, the guide takes the adults further through the rest of the guided tour, where the theme of Made in X and the artworks themselves can be explored in more detail. Of course you can also visit the To the Bone and Periphery exhibitions.

At 15:00 fire is lit in Bert Villa's installation Carbon and you can enjoy a delicious drink from the honesty bar.

The workshop ends at 15:30.

Time to taste the chocolate cakes!
