Extra Academy is a spontaneous alliance of Extra City, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Sint-Lucas Antwerpen.

Saša Karali? (b. Banja Luka, 1970) studied language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia and fine arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and Royal College of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
He often organises his work around self-staged public events and collective actions. His work focuses on the nature of collective interpretations and their usage in maintaining or disrupting social structures. In his last two larger projects, The Extra Light Project (2009) and Square (2012), collective interpretations and actions became the main fabric of the work that critically addressed religious and political structures.He occasionally curates group exhibitions: Quickening (1998), The Last Day of Socialism (2006), National Pride (2008). His recent exhibitions include The common which no longer exists, Künstlerhaus, Vienna (2012), My Communism, TOP, Shangai (2011), solo presentation The Extra Light Project, Cultural Embassy, Amsterdam (2010), solo exhibition Fiction Level, Museum for contemporary art RS, Banja Luka, BiH (2009).
He is currently teaching multimedia and time-based arts and is the head of the program Art in Context - integrated art and theory at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
