gerlach en koop is a collective, or rather a collective artist. Without head of course, as collectives are always headless —in theory that is. Responsibilities are pushed back and forth between the two members until they disappear underneath the conjunction 'en' [and]. In this grey area the two identities are diluted rather than united.

By repeating, copying or re-using something things become manifest. gerlach en koop are interested in the way the err themselves and make mistakes. The smaller the distance between two identical things —differences that sometimes are conceivable only— the more interesting.
