Artist talk prior to the presentation of 'Grondwerk' by Lucina Ra in deSingel.

Lucinda Ra is a collective of young artists from the theatre, music and the visual arts, with a strong social commitment. Their aim is to openly operate beyond the usual order of things. For them, art is not only a form of consolation and shelter, but also the opportunity to seek and find solutions.

‘Grondwerk’ is like a three-day mini-festival with performances, talks, an exhibition and a brass band concert. The central theme is the social city where there is more exchange between people and where more stories are shared. The makers gather stories of people who live in precarious situations in social housing districts in Ghent and Antwerp. For this occasion, Lucinda Ra’s core members are joined by the visual artist Sofie Van der Linden, dancer Sarah Sampelayo and stage designer Sven Roofthooft.
