Artist duo CMMC (Céline Mathieu and Myrthe Christianne van der Mark) is creating a new performance in the chapel of the Dominican monastery especially for the occasion of the Antwerp Art Nocturne. We would like to invite you to this very first activity on our new location.
"Endurance is more than a reference to a performance skill."
CMMC consists of Céline Mathieu (1989, Mechelen, BE) and Myrthe Christianne van der Mark (1989, Zeist, NL). Together they perform self-invented cognitive constructions, always with a latent sense of humor. Their practice has evolved over the seven years of their existence from working on quickly alternating emotions, text recitation and lengthly synchronized movements, to more stylized conceptual responses to the invitations they receive.
Céline Mathieu obtained a Master's degree in both Graphic Design and Research in Art and Design at Sint Lucas Antwerp. Myrthe Christianne van der Mark studied Visual Arts at ArtEZ (Arnhem) and Drama - Directing at RITCS (Brussels) and recently won ArtContest 2020. CMMC performed in galleries and at art fairs in Hamburg, Manchester, Rotterdam, Antwerp (MHKA, Trampoline gallery), Leuven (Museum M, Ithaka), Ghent (Vooruit Arts Centre) and Brussels (Poppositions).
This ongoing performance can be visited between 12:00 am and 9:00 pm. Due to the corona measures, we can only accommodate six visitors at a time. Please sign up for your preferred time slot.
